Big room trance. Those are the words that describe the latest installment in the Universal Language series. This month on Afterhours.FM – I start out the 23rd episode of Universal Language with the latest track by Australia’s own #1 DJ tyDi.
Following the smooth vocals of “Is It Cold”, comes a remix by John O’Callaghan of the track “Hold On To Me” by the worlds #1 DJ – Armin van Buuren. I continue the vocal trance theme with a smooth blend into a track I’ve been waiting to use for a very long time now titled “Dangerous” by Destination X. This remix by Funabashi has been a massive hit on Markus Schulz’s Global DJ Broadcast, and I’m so glad I was finally able to use it.
A change of tempo happens when the Duderstadt Uplifting Mash version of Beatitude kicks in. I then lay the Super8 & Tab remix of “Off The World” which has a tech-trance flavour to it. You may remember the Lange remix of the same track on Universal Language 021.
The set picks up pace at this point when two remixes of some classic Armin van Buuren tracks get a look in. Rush Hour and the title track from Armin’s “Imagine” album gets the Paul Miller treatment. What an amazing remix with the unforgetable piano riff. Following that is the unmistakeable sound of Sean Tyas, with the track “Melbourne” as we continue the piano sound, through to Above & Beyond presents Oceanlab with their latest track “On A Good Day”.
DT8 Project gets another replay of their track Destination, this time as the Redstar Remix. Check out Universal Language 021 to hear the Above & Beyond remix of this same track – amazing stuff.
As I wind up the 80 minute set, I play the new track by the DJ Shah & Adrina Thorpe titled “Back To You”. It took me a few listens but this track has really grown on me.
The last track of the set is an all time classic by none other than BT. With the upcoming Trance Energy festival touring Australia, I thought this was a fitting end. This classic track has been reworked James Andrew – but still stays true to the original sound.
I’m very happy with the way this set turned out, and I hope you enjoy it too! Play it loud, and as always, feel free to distribute anywhere you see fit.
A massive thanks to tyDi for his support on this set.
